Description
Los Mangos 18A was designed by architect Rafael Selman, who has always loved this property and considers it one of his finest works of art, having published in numerous architectural magazines since its development. The home offers an open and tropical feeling by combining the selection of materials, a minimalist design, and the integration of the interior garden. “I love opening the glass doors of the dining room and letting the “outdoors come in”, especially during the winter months when the outside temperature feels like A/C.,” states Ann, the current owner. “I love the outside showers and the size of the bedrooms.”
The residence transmits calmness and relaxation. The white colors and the minimalist feel all come together to convey a relaxing vacation feeling. Beautiful weddings have been celebrated here as well as family gatherings, private parties and special events. “I will miss the special moments we enjoyed here. There were a few years when we used to come every week end with our children, as they were growing up, and we had many friends who had homes in Casa de Campo and the get togethers were always fabulous; I will miss the calls from one of my nieces, who especially loves this house, as she always used to “Abuela, when are we going to Casa de Campo?”, recalls Ann.
Featuring an oversized master bedroom with huge bathroom and outdoor shower, which because of its simplicity gives the feeling of grandeur, and there is a special dining room overlooking the pool and terrace, and an enchanting gazebo, where during early January days many evenings were spent in that gazebo listening to music, under light blankets, the family singing karaoke, under the stars. The home faces east and has an oversized back yard so outdoor living is maximized at this home.
As you enter at the front entrance, you can look across the house all the way to the golf course. The master bedroom also offers a unique view towards the garden, golf course and pool deck. The guest bathroom is unique and will bring a smile to your face. At night, the roof looks magnificent, and the mix of lighting creates a magical effect around the house. There are magnificent “Flamboyan” trees at the end of the garden and in season they bloom bright orange and yellow hues. The entire property is full of architectural details that all blend together to look like a beautiful modern tropical resort.
The home also present a captivatingly wonderful green as part of its décor. All doors are stained in this green, which is very particular to Los Mangos 18A and was part of the original design. Los Mangos 18A is the perfect Modern-Tropical home in the best central location, facing east, close to Minitas beach, with plenty of curb appeal and privacy. “I will always remember my husband used to stay up until 3 am ‘teaching English to the staff’, our youngest son grew up here learning to ride the golf cart and eventually taking us around, planning the menus when we had great dinners with our friends, and I will especially remember the “Wow” on the faces of our friends every time they entered our home for the first time.
